Building Bespoke was established in 2000 by Andrew Scholey, a building surveyor with a strong and well-established background in project and construction management, design, and contracting. From the outset, the company was built on the principle of delivering well-considered, high-quality building solutions, supported by clear communication and sound technical knowledge.

Since then, Building Bespoke has gone from strength to strength, successfully delivering projects across both the residential and commercial sectors. We have built a reputation for taking on projects at an early stage, working closely with clients to develop ideas, explore options, and find practical, cost-effective solutions before work begins on site. This early involvement allows us to add real value, helping clients make informed decisions and avoid unnecessary costs later in the process.

We pride ourselves on being approachable and collaborative. Many of our projects begin with an informal conversation, where we take the time to understand our clients’ goals, budgets and constraints. We then work with design professionals to formalise the construction information. We are equally happy to work with architects from tender stage onwards.

Extensions

These are our bread and butter and often the smaller ones have made the most difference. It is great when the addition of space can make an existing home work even better for the occupants.

New Builds

These are always the icing on the cake for contractors and we have been fortunate enough to have undertaken numerous ones for individual private clients. With our detail design capability, vision and skilled resources we have created very individual dream homes for many happy families.

Barn Conversions

The four barn conversions that we have done over the years have all been highly individual. Two have been period timber framed buildings and two much newer redundant agricultural buildings. We love them because it invariably involves working in beautiful countryside.

Swimming Pools

It is good to build what you love and swimming pools fit into this category. We have built indoor and outdoor pools and sometimes been able to “test-drive” them!. We have worked in conjunction with swimming pool companies for the functional pool elements.
